How many years do we spend thinking of our future as prosperous and full of opportunities that will possibly arise for us? How much time do we spend daydreaming and thinking of a better life, and how nice it would be to have more time, energy, money or success in every little area of our lives? Wouldn't it be great if the things would start to happen for us as of today?! |
Well, there is one thing to consider first. We are our own wizards, creators of our days and navigators towards opportunities in life. The power to make changes lays within each and every one of us.
At this moment, you may find that you are too young, too tall, too well studied, less fortunate, less at ease with work habits, more afraid of people, less talkative, little skilled, and on and on.
How about starting without comparing yourself to the rest of the people you know? Take some time to think about what a real success in life means to you. Is it completing your education, or finding a soul mate to share life experience with, or is it creating a group of like minded professionals?...
What have you already done in your life that you may consider a success? What would you like to achieve that would make you believe that you are a winner and the master of your story? And what would it take you if you decide to pursue this way?

Determination of success is really your own mindset game, and, even though it may seem like it means the same thing for the whole world, you have to keep yourself away from that idea and create one of your own. Your definition, aligned with your own values and dreams.
You, most likely, want your dreams to become attainable. So you need to set up your own meaningful goals, having in mind that each one of us is a separate universe. Your neighbor might only wish to be forever surrounded with new gadgets, and your friend might wish to find himself his own apartment to live in, while you wish for something completely different, an excellent career, a family, to explore the world, or to create meaningful relationships...
If you can focus on your dream, envision it, and walk towards it by making short steps just to reflect on it and to decide how to work further to get closer to it, you have a great chance to reach there.
If you have just finished your school and want to work as a salesman, even though you have studied history, or any other career, you can still get there. If you do not have the skill yet, you want to train yourself to come closer and update and add to what you have currently got, in order to reach where you want to be.
Stay aware of where you are today and where you are going. Pinpoint your highest ideals, and goals around what you consider to be the point of your success.
By using your calendar you can make it easier to visualize and measure your progress.
Build your path at your own pace, step by step, day after day what needs to be added for you to reach there tomorrow, next month or within some years from now.
When you have set your long term goals, make the chunks of smaller easily obtainable goals that will all lead you to your main one. From there, write down the tasks that you have to do do to get to the first one, second, etc...- all the way to the main goal.
To keep the motivation and energy up, have the page present either in your office, at your computer or at the toilet if that makes it easier to see it and reevaluate it each day.
Make it a habit to check on the progress you have made day by day. Being realistic and persistent at the same time is important. Being realistically positive is even better.
Don't despair just because of the obstacles on the way. Difficulties are part of life. Take each one of them as a special challenge that motivates you, because you know that you can resolve it.
Celebrate each time you have put a lot of effort into it and can observe the progress. Share your achievement with the person who is able to frequently challenge you on your way.
All of the above starts with giving yourself enough time to get to know yourself first and accept who you are. If you are already there, then you are giving the respect to others around you, you are respectful and kind to others, and you love and value yourself. This means that you believe in who you are you are your best fan. You can do all the changes that you want in life. You know where your limits are and you set them so that people around you do not cross them, and treat you with respect. The more you believe in your abilities, the more you empower yourself by generating confidence, hope and fearless attitude.
Do not let others decide where your limits are. Be it with food, work, school, family requests, interests, hobbies, admiration of something or someone. Stay connected as your own best friend, and guardian of your internal strength. You want to receive your best in order to give them the best of yourself. Your personal success is closer than it may seem.
